Welcome to
this page providing links to the lists of words found in the Bhagavadgita.
The words have been arranged alphabetically for each akshara. The idea
behind preparing the word list is basically to provide linguistic information
such as the most frequently used words, the most frequently encountered
syllable etc. Much useful information is already available in the lists
which may be seen in Devanagari directly.
The word list was
prepared by indexing the text of the Bhagavadgita. Each sloka was typed
in after splitting the long strings into appropriate words and the set
of 700 slokas indexed. It is said that this set of
words is very meaningful for anyone desiring to learn the Sanskrit language.
From the linguistic point of view, it may be of interest for us to find
out which syllables are more frequently found and those which are rarely
used.
Here are some interesting
statistics.
